The OC Music Center located in RSM (Rancho Santa Margarita) is all about kids, music lessons, school band rentals and good service. We also have a sister store located in Laguna Niguel called Tim's OC Music. OC Music offers acoustic guitar lessons, piano lessons for children, other musical instruction and private music lessons for the most popular musical instruments such as electric guitar lessons. At OC Music you can receive violin lessons, viola lessons, cello lessons, piano lessons, acoustic guitar lessons, electric guitar lessons, bass lessons, percussion lessons, drum lessons, drum set lessons and voice lessons. OC Music also offers woodwind and brasswind instruction including flute lessons, clarinet lessons, alto sax lessons, tenor saxophone lessons, trumpet lessons, trombone lessons and baritone lessons.

In addition to specializing in music lessons and musical instruction at our South Orange County location in R.S.M., we also provide musical instruments for rent to beginning music students enrolled in band and orchestra classes at schools in CAPO, the Capistrano Unified School District - CUSD and the Saddleback Valley Unified School District - SVUSD. If your child is enrolled in a beginning instrumental music class in the Capistrano Unified School District (CAPOUSD) or the Saddleback Valley Unified School District (SVUSD), or even a private school in the area, then OC Music Center is a great place to get an instrument to rent or even rent-to-own for your school band or school orchestra. We provide high-quality violin rentals, viola rentals, cello rentals, flute rentals, clarinet rentals, alto sax rentals, tenor saxophone rentals, trumpet rentals, trombone rentals and even baritone rentals.

OC Music at RSM offers many other musical services to South Orange County in addition to music lessons and musical instrument rentals. In fact, selling acoustic guitars and electric guitars has been our stock in trade since 1979. We service all guitars and carry a full line of accessories for them including guitar strings, tuners, capos, guitar picks, guitar stands, wall hangers, cases, etc., etc. Other musical merchandise and services we offer include sheet music, music books including piano methods and school band books

The immediate market area we serve includes the communities of Coto de Caza, Dove Canyon, Foothill Ranch, Ladera Ranch, Lake Forest, Las Flores, Melinda Heights, Mission Viejo, Portola Hills, Rancho Santa Margarita, Trabuco Canyon and Wagon Wheel; with the following postal zip codes: 92609, 92610, 92694, 92630, 92690, 92691, 92692, 92688, 92676, 92678 and 92679.

Lesson Policy for Private Music Lessons

Monthly Tuition:
Our well-qualified music teachers typically charge at a rate of $30.00 per standard 30-minute lesson for private tutoring. Some students find it beneficial to take 45 minute or 60 minute lessons which are available at a proportionally higher cost. Tuition is typically paid by the month in advance. The initial registration process, including the first month's pro-rated tuition may be handled either over the phone or in the store - whichever is more convenient for you. After that initial sign-up process through the store, tuition shall be paid directly to the instructor in advance at the last lesson of the prior month.

Studio Hours:
Occasionally the retail portion of the store may be closed when you have a lesson scheduled. No worries, if the store is closed just come in through the studio entrance.

Holidays:
As a rule, most instructors do not teach and do not charge students for lesson days that fall on major national holidays. If a particular month only has three lessons due to a holiday, more than likely the instructor will collect full tuition for that month and then teach five lessons in a subsequent month to make up the missed lesson.

Missed Lessons:
The tuition is a regular monthly charge and will generally not be reduced because a student misses a lesson. However, if you must skip a scheduled lesson and you give your instructor a 24 hour notice, they will usually try and arrange a make-up lesson time. Our goal is to be reasonable and give you value for your money - but the lessons need to be consistent to be worthwhile.

In the unusual event that a teacher must miss a lesson, then the store will arrange a substitute teacher. If the store cannot arrange a "sub" then we would notify you and roll-over a 1-lesson credit into the new month or work out an acceptable make-up time, at your option.

Practice:
The more you practice the quicker you will learn but consistency is the real secret to success for beginners.

Supplies:
Each teacher will provide you with a list of learning materials to purchase at the first lesson

Termination of Lessons:
Once you get on our lesson schedule we will assume you are continuing with lessons until we hear otherwise from you. Most successful music students take lessons for months (and even years) but whenever you decide to stop, we do require a two week advance notice in writing. This will allow the store and your instructor a reasonable amount of time in order to schedule a new student into that time slot.
